Here we are again – It’s closing day, you’re filling out your Brokerage forms, and you wince at what you’re not taking home from your closing.
In fact when you think about it, you’ve been putting in regular work days, hitting the phones and pounding the pavement to find leads for the team and it’s felt good to be with a community but lately there’s been this nagging thought: “Could I make it on my own?”
It’s a big step, but it’s also an exciting opportunity.
There are three sentences I hear most often from agents who are keeping themselves from making the leap. Let’s chat about them:
“I’ve been thinking about it for a while but I don’t have the experience yet.”
Experience is a funny thing. You never feel like you have enough until you take the plunge and realize you were ready all along. Remember, even the most seasoned agents started somewhere. If you’ve been thinking about going solo, it’s probably because you’re ready. You’ve been building experience every single day. Don’t let self-doubt hold you back.
Every showing, every negotiation, every happy client is a testament to your capability. The best way to gain more experience? Dive in and make it happen
“I’m really good friends with my team leader.”
This is a tough one because, hey, we all value our friendships. But here’s the thing – true friends want to see each other succeed. If your team leader is a genuine friend, they’ll support your decision to grow and thrive independently.
It’s not about leaving them behind; it’s about taking the next step in your journey. You can still maintain those valuable relationships while pursuing your own path.
Plus, think about how much stronger your friendship can become when you’re both succeeding in your own right!
“Where will I find leads?”
Finding leads as a solo agent might seem daunting at first, but you’ve already been doing it within your team. Tap into your existing network of clients, friends, and family. Leverage social media to showcase your expertise and attract new clients. Attend local events and get involved in your community to build relationships and generate referrals.
You have the tools and the know-how; it’s just a matter of using them to your advantage.
Embracing Your Independence
Going solo means keeping more of your hard-earned money and having full control over your brand and business decisions. Imagine the freedom of crafting your own brand, making decisions that align with your vision, and reaping the full benefits of your hard work.
It’s not just about financial gain; it’s about owning your success story. Like we talked about earlier, you’ve been doing the work already.
You have the tools and the know-how; it’s just a matter of using them to your advantage.
Take the Leap
Fear is normal, but it’s also a sign that you’re on the brink of something amazing.
Working with your Broker, or soon-to-be Broker, sit down and make a transition and sales plan so you know exactly what you want to do, where you’re headed, and how you’ll access support from the office to get there.
You have the tools and the know-how; it’s just a matter of using them to your advantage.
You’ve been thinking about it, dreaming about it, and now it’s time to make it a reality.
Hold your chin up with the courage to transition from team to solo agent.
You’ve got the skills, the experience, and the drive. Now, all you need is the confidence to step into your own spotlight and shine.
You’ve got this!
