What Do Real Estate Agents Wear?

Maybe you were mesmerized by the golden blazers and penny loafers of the past.

Or wondered how you would afford only brand label dresses while heading out for extended lunches everyday like Agents do on those reality shows.

We've got a different, everyday take on what real life real estate Agents are wearing to work these days.

Wear what you feel comfortable in

This is the first thing we tell Agents when they ask about a dress code. Whether you’re going for more of a professional look, or a casual one, the first thing we want you to be is comfortable. Because when you feel good in what you wear it shines through as confidence.

And bonus, comfort is also practical when you’re running around from showings, to inspections, and closings during your day!

Ditch the Blazer if you want to!

Here’s the deal: you can close on a home in jeans and a T-shirt if you choose to. Your clients care about authenticity and the work you put in to help them achieve their home goals. You don’t need to wear a blazer to be taken seriously.

Wear the moment

Looking for a clearer suggestion? Pick what you’re going to wear based on your day in real estate. Here are some specific suggestions:

Showings and inspections: Wear something comfortable, functional, and weather-appropriate. Something you can bend down to check outlets with and reach up to shelves with easily.

Open houses and client interviews: Wear something a little more professional (but that doesn’t have to mean a blazer!)

Maybe a nice shirt with dark jeans or khakis, a dress you feel good in, or your favorite dress pants.

Office days: Whatever the heck you want – as long as it’s presentable!

One of our Core Values at The Local Element is to be authentically ourselves! Your closet reflects who you are - and our advice is that what you wear showcases your authentic self well!
